I know, I know, it’s rare for Angie to be home on a Saturday night. Yesterday and today were pretty great days and Team Walker decided to spend the night grilling, having a couple glasses of wine and watching a dvd from the Team Walker Favorite’s Section. It’s still a toss up between Nine to Five, Romancing the Stone and CopyCat.
Yesterday was Dad’s big 70th birthday. Dinner at the Lariat was great and although the tables were lined up in horseshoe fashion, I enjoyed the Town Hall Meeting set up. After our dinners were served, I made all 18 of us go “around the horseshoe” and tell everyone what they ordered. I guess the “moderator” in me never goes away. Of course, that didn’t stop some of the aunts from asking everyone what they ordered, but hey, I tried. Some things will never change. Dad was happy and probably somewhat surprised so many people came to dinner. After dinner a few of us went to our favorite neighborhood bar and had a few cocktails in Dad’s honor.
Today, Rob had a banner start to his morning and had half of his leftover Strip with fried eggs, they he mowed and watered the garden and all the flowers. Dad and I ran to Target and Barnes and Noble. For his birthday, Dad said he wanted the first season of Burn Notice, which doesn’t go on-sale until Tuesday. So, that was a bit of a bust, be we do have a standing date for Tuesday. When I got home, we took Sophie to the pool and caught a few rays. Donny, Julie and Weston walked over so we had a little family time which was pretty cool. We got home and fixed a few crab cakes, waited a couple hours, had salads and then grilled dinner. Pork chops, asparagus and baked potatoes are always better two days after you prep them. Yum!! It’s pretty nice to be home…

Really? 9 to 5? With Dabney Coleman and Lily Tomlin and Dolly Parton? Seriously? Wow.
