My birthday weekend seemed a little exaggerated since Brent was in town which meant (say it isn’t so) going out every night. Thursday, I worked and then we went to our favorite watering hole for the weekly drawing. Friday, we had a most excellent dinner at the Hoffbrau House which, as our friend remarked, as never changed over all these years. Next, we mozied over to BG Karoke in Bartonville for a bachelor party. Who knew there were dirty lyrics to I Got You Babe? Honestly, I think the guys could have held up a little longer with the karoke thing had there not been SO MUCH country. But, you’ll have that-it was a pretty fun time though. The last stop of the evening was at the favoring watering hole. The four of us played BuckHunter for what seemed like hours but had a blast. According to my digital camera, there was dancing and lots of it. Suffice it to say, said favorite watering hole doesn’t get much dancing but when it happens, the whole place is dancing. Priceless memories with photographic evidence!! Saturday, I worked in the morning and then ran errands most of the afternoon. A group of us sat outside on the patio at Po’ Boys and had a blast. Then, after a few cocktails at Casa De Walker, we headed on down to see Joan Jett. We timed it perfectly as they literally took the stage when we got there. We saw a bunch of people we knew and she just rocked!! Besides my friend essentially getting hit on by a girl with her husband, who eventually fell down on her face, it was kind of uneventful. Although, I have two sources that tell me that several members of The Blackhearts were arrested later in the evening/morning. I guess they were celebrating my birthday weekend too. Maybe a little too much. Sunday, while the guys were at the races and Brent was out boating, I had my dad and aunt over for lunch. After lunch we braved the rain and ran some more errands. After the races were cancelled and boating became dangerous, Brent and Maximus decided to leave early to avoid the torrential downpours. And that was the weekend. Since I spent my birthday in bed (damn the humidity) I did watch Zodiac with Robert Downey Jr and Jake Gyllenhal. I wouldn’t recommend it so much. You know how everyone was sceptic about Titanic because everyone knew the ending? It’s kind of the same since the Zodiac killings remain unsolved. So even though I had to cancel my little shindig at Sullivan’s, I had a great birthday because I was with great friends. And now we know the drama doesn’t even go away for a birthday.
