Mamma Walker Update

Written on July 19th in Uncategorized

Rob and I really appreciate everyone’s prayers. Although we’re trying to be optimistic, the reality is grim. It’s difficult to switch gears in mid-stride, but we’ve realized we have no choice.

Peace and Love.

Who Needs It?

Written on July 8th in Uncategorized

Last night, our power was interrupted for over an hour. It began with a flicker, then ten minutes later, another flicker and then the outage. A friend’s mom works at AmerenCilco and told her that there were problems underground on University. This is the same friend that went to Schnuck’s on University to pay her Ameren bill and their power was out-so they couldn’t accept the payment.

After Sky Concert Monday evening, a few friends were driving along McClure and North streets and noticed the electricity out in that area. That was a little more dangerous because people were lighting fireworks and cars couldn’t see the people (kids) in the street.

Two weeks ago, our neighborhood was without power for nearly two hours. I think it’s getting ridiculous. What’s going on and why isn’t AmerenCilco being held accountable for servicing its customers?

Fun Things Coming Up

ROCK THE BOAT 2005

For the second year in a row, the Peoria Jaycees have organized Rock the Boat. It’s a 2 hour cruise on the Spirit of Peoria with Jam Sammich, plenty of food and beverages, and a ton of people. It’s always a good time and you get to cruise the beautiful Peoria lake. www.jacees.com
has more information.

TWO LIVE CREW

Next Saturday, the Crew is playing at Babes on Main. Considering I spent 90% of my teen years dancing to their songs at Stage Two (I just totally dated myself), I think this is a must for me. My thinking is this is probably a girls night out thing as Rob would rather listen to 30 women singing “Fancy” at karoke rather than hear Two Live Crew.

BLOGGER BASH II

Next Saturday, at Whitey’s on Sheridan around 8 o’clock is the return of Blogger Bash! Imagine a bunch of people talking about local poo poo and their blogs. If that in any way sounds fun to you, then join in!
