Hopefully, everyone is recovering from all the St. Patrick’s Day festivities. It seemed like everyone in Peoria turned out for the parade this year. The beautiful weather really helped the attendance. I couldn’t be the only one that noticed how close the judges (Amy Paul and Dave Ransburg) and announcer Tim Doyle came to being hit with flying candy.
This was the first year we didn’t make it to the City Center or even Sully’s. The corned beef lunch at F.Scott’s/Sullivan’s was absolutely amazing. The bagpipe players were stunning. When they played Amazing Grace, I got a little choked up. Brad finally got the Guiness draft working and Rob was a happy soul.
We joined a clan of friends at Judge’s Chamber. Sorry, but I feel like I’ve been hanging out in a trailer park with a vending machine for beer when I leave there. I’ve seen some craaazy stuff going on there. Thankfully, the door was open and people were standing outside getting some air. One dollar for two songs on the jukebox? What the heck is that about? And-we’re not talking about the super-cool download any song in the world jukebox. Just a regular jukebox. That’s just wrong. We mozied across the street to Tom Cats Downtown Back Alley- they should add a couple more words to the title-on Main Street. It’s actually a pretty fun place and there were a ton of people there.
Rob and I started the day out with an unsigned Lucky Charms box and ended the day with a box full of signatures. Sometimes, it’s the best way to remember how many people you run into.
I was with Angie @ Judges Chamber which was a first for us for St. Paddy’s Day. Lets just say it was not one of our regular stops for St. Paddy’s. I don’t think as a rule it should be. It was Ok before the parade…… But a little to much bumpin and grinding a little too early in the day
