Chunky

Written on September 20th in Uncategorized

Vito thankfully, does not have to wear the cone. The poor dog did get his ear shaved and he has stitches. When Rob picked him up, he had an ACE bandage wrapped under his chin and around his ears. We’re trying not to look at the ear. Not a pretty picture. I’ll buy him some Frosty Paws tonight for a treat.

And the cone rears its ugly head

Written on September 16th in Uncategorized

Vito is back at the vet. Monday night, Vito decided to start a little tiff with Aiko. Aiko-being the dominant dog-pierced Chunky’s ear in two places. Now, the ear is puffy and filled with blood. Poor guy is just miserable! I took him to the vet this morning and they’re keeping him overnight. They have to sedate him, drain the blood and button his ear. Please say a prayer for him. So, we have a dog on bed rest and now we’ll have a dog with a cone. This will definitely put Vito over the edge. He still has flashbacks from the first cone.

Vito Monster

Yesterday, Vito had quite the adventure. He ran around the neighborhood for almost an hour. Thankfully, he’s such a scaredy cat-there was no way he would have gone near any of the main roads. So, he’s back at home-just watching channel one.

The Bracelet

Written on September 1st in Uncategorized

On to the drama….I finally received “The Bracelet.” The bracelet was ordered by Rob from a company featured in both US Weekly and InTouch Magazines. It was going to be my anniversary present. It has a leather band and a silver name plate. Rob picked the color pink and had Angie engraved. Eighteen weeks later it arrived. It’s a lot thinner than I expected and to look at it, you would never think it cost what it did. I sent an email to the company last week, before it arrived, but they have not responded. Should I return the bracelet or keep it? Waiting for some input…..

Bella

Bella is our 4 year old black lab. She’s the 2nd of two puppies that Lucy and Aiko had. Sampson was born in the backseat of Mama Walker’s car, in the parking lot of the emergency vet. Bella was born 4 hours later, in the plastic swimming pool that was in our living room. Bella was the runt of the litter, but she makes up for her size with her attitude. She keeps the “boys” in line at all times.

Bella was diagnosed as having heart worm. I took her into the vet on Monday and will pick her up on Friday. One of the earliest symptoms of heartworm is coughing, and thankfully, she wasn’t coughing! The vet said she is doing great. She got an injection yesterday and will get another injection tomorrow. The drug they’re using really kills and breaks up the heartworm. Thank Goodness! For the next month, Bella will be an indoor dog. She’ll love that! The vet says that she needs to be very inactive since the heart worms will be breaking up. There’s a chance that if she’s jumping up and down or being hyper, they could get lodged in her heart or lungs. No good.. So, if you’re reading this, please keep Bella in your prayers!
